Greetings and Thank You for visiting my campaign website!

November 4, 2020 - Post-Election Update:  Thank you for electing me to serve our residents on the Wayland City Council!  I will always strive to do my best to represent the priorities and needs of our community.  I have appreciated you support and encouragement during my successful campaign.  Thank you!

After much reflection, discussions with my family, and encouragement from others, I have decided to run for a seat on the Wayland City Council for a two year term.  Wayland is our home - most of our family lives here, we shop here, bank here, buy our gas here, attend church here, go to medical providers in the city, our many grandchildren attend school here, and I have served on various local boards and committees.  I have always had interests in civics and government, especially at the local level, and taught those subjects when I was a teacher early in my education career.

Many of you know me as a life-long educator, most recently as your Superintendent at Wayland Union Schools for the past ten years.  I was honored to have served our greater Wayland community and families in that capacity.  Now that I have retired from public education, I would like to share my servant leadership skills and experiences by giving back to the community we all call home.

I view myself as a public servant, not as a politician - although even with parents and their children, and most things in life - "politics" is part of human nature.  I have no specific agenda in running for City Council, just a civic minded interest in continuing to support and improve our community through city government.

Please check out the tabs above in Meet Norm to learn more about my experiences and qualifications.  My goals for serving the City of Wayland are listed under the Priorities tab and I'd encourage you to support my campaign by Endorsing me and/or Requesting a Yard Sign on the tab to the right.

Thanks again for reviewing my information and I would respectfully ask for your vote for City Council!
